A little whitewashed chapel perched on a rocky hill above Protaras, reached by a stone stairway of roughly 150 steps. The climb is short but sweaty in summer, and the reward is a sweeping free view over the resort coast — especially good at sunset, when it does get busy. The trees near the top flutter with wish ribbons left by visitors.

The little stone church of Profitis Elias crowns a rocky knoll above the centre of Protaras, reached by a stairway of some 150 steps. It's the resort's best free viewpoint — the Famagusta coastline unrolls below, from Fig Tree Bay towards Cape Greco — and the church itself is still in active use.
The stairway starts directly off the main Protaras strip — you can't miss the hill; most Protaras hotels are within walking distance.
Free parking pockets at the foot of the steps and in the streets behind; arrive before the sunset rush in summer.
Sunrise if you can manage it, sunset for the colour-and-crowds version. The steps are exposed — avoid midday in July–August.
