Larnaca Airport Transfers: Taxi, Bus or Private Car to Every Resort

Landing at Larnaca? How long it takes to reach each resort, which buses and shuttles run, how the taxis work, and when a pre-booked transfer is worth it.

7 min read · Updated October 2026

Larnaca Airport transfers are the first decision of most Cyprus holidays, because Larnaca (LCA) is where most visitors land. Ayia Napa and Protaras are about 40–45 minutes east by road, Limassol about 45 minutes west, Nicosia about 45 minutes inland, and Larnaca town itself barely ten minutes away.

There are four ways out of the airport: a bus or shared shuttle, a taxi from the rank outside arrivals, a hire car, or a private transfer booked before you fly. Each one wins in a different situation. This guide goes route by route, using the operators’ own published routes and fares, checked in October 2026 — confirm on the day, because timetables change with the season.

Larnaca Airport transfer times at a glance

Typical drive times from Larnaca Airport by road, outside rush hour: Larnaca town and the Finikoudes seafront about 10 minutes; Ayia Napa about 40 minutes; Protaras about 45 minutes; Limassol about 45 minutes; Nicosia about 45 minutes; Paphos about 1 hour 40 minutes.

Buses and shared shuttles take longer than these times because they stop along the way, and late-evening arrivals have fewer options. A taxi or a private transfer is the only door-to-door choice at any hour.

Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa and Protaras

There is no city bus that runs straight from the terminal to Ayia Napa. The Kapnos Airport Shuttle runs a shared coach from the arrivals hall to Protaras that also stops on Nissi Avenue in Ayia Napa. The operator quotes about 65 minutes to Protaras and €15 per adult (€5 per child), with departures from the early hours until late evening, adjusted by season.

The budget alternative is the city bus from the airport into Larnaca, then an intercity coach east — cheap, but with a change and a wait. A taxi or a pre-booked transfer takes you door to door in about 40–45 minutes, which is why most families and late arrivals heading east choose one.

Larnaca Airport to Limassol

The Limassol Airport Express runs a direct coach from Larnaca Airport to Limassol in roughly 50 minutes, for around €10 per adult. Its Limassol stop is a bus station on the edge of town rather than the seafront hotel strip, so most people still need a taxi for the last stretch.

A taxi or private transfer goes straight to the hotel in about 45 minutes along the A1 motorway. If you are staying along the tourist area east of the old town, door to door saves the most hassle.

Larnaca Airport to Nicosia and Larnaca town

Kapnos Airport Shuttle runs scheduled coaches from Larnaca Airport to Nicosia; timetables and online booking are on its website. By car or transfer the drive is about 45 minutes.

For Larnaca town, city buses run from the airport to the centre and the Finikoudes seafront in a short ride, and a taxi is a quick hop. Mackenzie Beach, with its hotels and beach bars, sits right beside the runway.

Taxis at Larnaca Airport

Licensed taxis wait at the rank outside arrivals around the clock. Fares follow a regulated tariff with a higher night rate, so the same journey costs more after dark. Ask the driver for the likely fare before setting off, and check whether you can pay by card.

Bolt, the ride-hailing app, also works in Larnaca, Limassol and Paphos, though how quickly a car turns up at the airport depends on the time of day.

When a pre-booked private transfer is worth it

With a private transfer the price is fixed when you book, a driver meets you in arrivals, and the car goes straight to your hotel. It is worth it when you land late at night, travel with children and car seats, arrive as a group with a lot of luggage, or are heading to Ayia Napa or Protaras, where the public option involves a change.

You can book one through our partner intui.travel with the button on this page: choose the car size, see the price before you pay, and add your flight number when booking so the pickup matches your arrival.

Hiring a car at Larnaca Airport instead

If you plan to see more than your resort — the Troodos villages, the Akamas, the waterfalls — collecting a hire car at the airport usually works out better than a transfer plus taxis later. The rental companies have desks at Larnaca Airport, and you can compare them all in one search through our car hire partner.

Read our car hire guide first for the excess insurance small print, which is where a cheap headline price usually turns expensive.

Frequently asked

How do I get from Larnaca Airport to Ayia Napa?

By road it takes about 40 minutes. The Kapnos Airport Shuttle runs a shared coach from arrivals to Protaras that stops in Ayia Napa on Nissi Avenue (about €15 per adult, the operator’s 2026 fare). Otherwise take a taxi from the rank, or pre-book a private transfer for a fixed price with a driver waiting in arrivals.

Is there a bus from Larnaca Airport to Limassol?

Yes. The Limassol Airport Express runs a direct coach in about 50 minutes for around €10 per adult. It stops at a bus station on the edge of Limassol, so you may need a taxi to your hotel.

How long is the drive from Larnaca Airport to Limassol?

About 45 minutes on the A1 motorway outside rush hour.

Are there taxis at Larnaca Airport at night?

Yes. Licensed taxis wait at the rank outside arrivals 24 hours a day. Night fares are higher than day fares under the regulated tariff, so a pre-booked transfer with a fixed price can be the calmer choice for a late flight.

Should I book my Larnaca Airport transfer in advance?

If you land late, travel with children or a group, or are heading to Ayia Napa or Protaras, yes — the price is fixed and someone is waiting for you. For a short hop into Larnaca town, a taxi from the rank is simple enough.
