Visiting Kakopetria Old Village
Kakopetria's old quarter is a maze of restored stone houses and wooden balconies along the Kargotis river in the Solea valley — one of the best-preserved traditional villages in the Troodos and a gateway to UNESCO-listed painted churches nearby.
Getting there
On the B9 road through the Solea valley, about 55 km from Nicosia; signed parking sits at the edge of the old village.

Car parks at the entrance to the old quarter, which is pedestrianised inside.
Best time to go
Year-round; autumn colour and a cosy winter atmosphere are special, and it stays cool at altitude in summer.
