Avakas Gorge cuts a dramatic slot through the Akamas, its limestone walls narrowing to a few metres apart and rising some 30 m overhead. The streambed walk passes a famous boulder wedged between the cliffs.
Drive to the signed Avakas car park beyond Agios Georgios/Toxeftra; the trail starts at the end of the road.
Free car park at the gorge entrance, then a flat 20-minute walk to the narrows.
April–June, when water levels are low and walkable but the gorge is still green. Avoid after heavy rain (flash-flood risk).
