A wide crescent of untouched golden sand and a protected loggerhead & green-turtle nesting site. No facilities, no umbrellas — just dunes, sea and the conservation hatchery.
Type: Beach · Area: Akamas Peninsula, Akamas & Paphos · Best time: May–Aug · early morning · Entry: Free
Lara Bay is a wild, undeveloped crescent on the west Akamas, protected as a key nesting ground for green and loggerhead sea turtles. There are no sunbeds or bars — just sand, dunes and the seasonal turtle hatchery run by conservation teams each summer.
A bumpy unpaved coastal track from Agios Georgios (Pegeia); a high-clearance or 4×4 vehicle is strongly recommended. Allow 30–40 minutes from Coral Bay.
Informal parking on the dirt area behind the beach.
May–August; arrive early morning for cool sand, calm sea and the best chance of seeing the marked turtle nests.
